The Fortress is part of a heritage village nestled deep in the mountains The project is part of a wider plan to transform the area into one of the UAE’s leading tourist attractions. Najd Al Maqsar village was reconstructed as a part of tourism development and to preserve the archaeological sites. A viewpoint area was also built so the visitors can also enjoy the view of farm lands surrounding the Fortress area. It is made up of a number of old houses and rocks engraved with drawings of camels and other animals dating back thousands of years.
